If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I spend every weekend meal prepping.
Truth is, meal prepping has been the key to success for me. Having food readily available when I’m hungry has really helped me avoid the mindless snacking I was so used to.
A Sunday well spent brings a week of content
I like to think of my Sundays as the day where I get everything ready for the week ahead. I do laundry, schedule my Studio Tone it Up classes, and prep all my meals for the week.
Although it may sound intimidating at first, meal prepping gets a lot easier with time.
I remember how overwhelmed I felt the first time I meal prepped for an entire week. I thought I had spent way too much time in the kitchen and worried all the food would go bad before I could eat it.
Soon enough I learned that I can meal prep for the entire week if I focus on just 2-3 different meals for lunch and dinner, as opposed to a different meal each day. I also learned it’s okay to meal prep up to a certain day. Just leave veggies chopped and ready to go so you can prep some more during the week.
What’s important is that you don’t stress about prepping your meals. This is supposed to be a positive activity, not just another chore.
Find a meal prepping buddy
Another way to make meal prepping more fun is to share the experience with someone else. I’m lucky that Kris helps me chopping veggies and cooking chicken while I focus on muffins or pancakes.
I know some girls prep with their siblings, friends, or other family members and it becomes a bonding moment for them.
Ask someone to join you next time and have some fun with it!
