This year marks our first Christmas as a married couple, and our third Christmas living together.
Over the years, Kris and I have been forming new Christmas traditions that we hope to continue for many years.
However, we’re still in the process of creating new traditions since each year we come up with something new.
As you may have noticed from Instagram, I’m absolutely obsessed with Christmas.
For that reason, forming new Christmas traditions is very important to me.
I’m lucky to have a very understanding hubby and patient pup that deal with my Christmas craziness.
From dressing up, to baking, to Hallmark movies, these are my favorite Christmas traditions.
Rocking around the Christmas tree
Kris and I always put our tree up together.
I’ll admit he does most of the work, but I put up the ornaments!
We have a few personalized ornaments and our tradition is to hang them up together.
We also have an ornament with Ollie’s paw and we help him hang it up.
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
If you know me, you know I am always (without fail) cold.
Last year, Kris got me a reindeer onesie and it is the most comfortable, cutest thing ever.
Needless to say, dressing up became a new Christmas tradition.
We took our Christmas card dressed up (Ollie was Santa, duh) and opened presents like that!
Christmas cookie baking
I am a huge fan of baking. It’s super relaxing and fun.
I also love decorating the cookies and gifting them to everyone in my life.
For the most part, it’s something I do on my own, but Kris does occasionally join me in decorating.
Hallmark movies all the way
I will only watch the Hallmark channel during the holidays.
In fact, this year I purchased the channel because it wasn’t available on Hulu TV (yes, I’m that obsessed).
My favorite movie is A December Bride, and I can watch it every day non-stop.
I just love the general feel-good vibe of the Hallmark movies and the beautiful scenery.
Ollie’s gifts
Kris and I cannot let Ollie go without a gift.
We always buy him a few toys, wrap them up and put them under the tree.
To be honest, Ollie has no idea because he never tries to open them, but we think it’s cute.
We also have to help him open them on Christmas day because he doesn’t really destroy the wrapping paper (he’s a good boy like that).
Forming new Christmas traditions
Kris and I both love Christmas, although I definitely am more obsessed than he is.
We love forming new Christmas traditions and can’t wait to keep adding some more over the years.
If you have any Christmas traditions you love, share them below. I always find inspiration from other people’s ideas!
