One of the most searched topics on Pinterest has to be a bridal party gift guide. I know I searched for it, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say so have you.
Getting gifts for my bridesmaids was really fun, but I will admit stressful at times. I had a ton of ideas but they were either not functional, too expensive, or not something that all of my bridesmaids would enjoy.
Despite that, I still made it through and ended up getting them adorable (or so I like to think) gifts for both the bridesmaid proposal and as a thank you during the wedding day.
I also encouraged Kris to do the same for his groomsmen. And, of course, helped him out during the search process.
To make this gift-giving a little easier, I wanted to share what Kris and I did for our bridal party.
Bridesmaid proposal
Before I even started planning our wedding, I knew there were going to be stressful times. And I knew I’d need my girls to listen to me and help me keep going.
That’s why I decided I wanted to get them a nice gift as a bridesmaid proposal. Both so they could enjoy it, but also as an early apology for all the stress and crying that would happen.
I got boxes for each of them at Michaels and stuffed them with pieces of paper as a cushion. I got them each a personalized tumbler with their name and role in navy blue, since that would be their dress color.
From the beginning I decided that my bridesmaids would get to choose their dresses, but I wanted them to be the same color. So I added the swatch to the box so they had something to reference to while dress shopping.
I also included chocolate (that’s a great way of saying ‘thank you for listening to me vent for next few months’) and ‘Bride Tribe’ hair ties.
Lastly, I included a pretty hand sanitizer and a scratch off that would reveal the important question: “Will you be my bridesmaid?”
Lucky for me, my bridesmaids all loved their boxes (or so they say) and I was pretty happy with how they turned out.
Groomsmen proposal
I’ll be honest, I think I was more concerned about getting the groomsmen a gift than Kris was, but that’s just the way we are.
After searching on Etsy for quite some time, Kris found these really cool-looking boxes for cigars. I loved them because they resemble suits. They were personalized to have each groomsman’s name. When they opened the box, they found “Will you be my groomsman?”
Kris purchased the cigars from a local store and all the guys enjoyed them during the bachelor party.
And if one (or more) of the groomsmen doesn’t smoke cigars, don’t worry. There’s chocolate cigars! A way better alternative if you ask me (LOL).
That was the case for us with one of the groomsmen. Luckily he still got to enjoy his groomsman proposal, with a delicious chocolate nonetheless.
Thanking the bridesmaids
After all the wedding planning had been done and my bridesmaids had listened to me vent, cry, smile, and go through every single possible emotion, I was finally able to thank them.
I knew the wedding day was going to be a long one. So, I wanted to make them a mini ‘at-home spa’ to pamper themselves after all their hard work.
With that in mind, I got them personalized navy blue robes, feet masks (heels are killers), a body lotion, bath bomb, makeup remover wipes, blotting sheets, cotton swabs (perfect for drying tears when you have makeup on), and put it all in a cute tote with their names.
I also got them hangers for the robes, tied a bow around it, and wrote their names with stickers.
They each had a personalized gift in addition to the above, and of course, a thank you note.
I honestly had a lot of fun putting together these bags. From what they said, my bridesmaids loved treating themselves to a mini spa day after the wedding.
Thanking the groomsmen
I would’ve loved to see the groomsmen wearing face masks. However, Kris didn’t think they’d appreciate it as much as I would.
So instead he got them shot glasses with their names, mini bottles of alcohol, and a personalized switchblade.
And again, if a groomsman doesn’t drink, don’t worry! Kris got a small Coca-Cola glass with small bottles of soda to go with it. There’s options for everyone!
